HISTORY

Djibouti was formally known as Somaliland when it was colonized by the French, after they gained their independence on 27th June 1977 from Ethiopia, they adopted the name Djibouti and also they adapted the flag of a political party as their new national flag and was hoisted in the same year of their independence

The flag was gotten from the design used by a political party named Liberation Front of the Coast of the Somalis.

Djibouti flag has four colours- blue, green. white and red. the blue colour is placed horizontally at the top while the green is placed directly under the blue colour and the white colour is shaped like a triangle facing right with the red star placed inside of it.
